Gentle yoga is learning to relax and energise your body. It begins with your breathing, as learning the fundamentals of breath control can influence how you feel emotionally and physically. Deep breathing slows your heartbeat, reduces the flow of adrenalin and increases the flow of endorphins, the body’s natural tranquilliser.
It’s not a case of how much you can do as most things can be adapted to suit the age group, but it is important to look after your bones and stay active. Osteoporosis is a major issue for older people.
The class is run under the guidance of a qualified instructor and is a friendly group who have been together for a number of years. Come and join them and you will be made very welcome.
